Des Moines

Our kickoff event in Winston-Salem, NC on 9/9/09 was a great success. However, there wasn’t much follow up after the event.

We are extremely excited to announce a second Stop Slavery Here event will be held in Des Moines, IA this summer!

Here is an excerpt from sammahlstadt.com about the event details (or lack thereof):

We desire to be a movement that educates and empowers people to stop slavery in their context. We all have a here. And if we stand up and stand together, we can stop slavery here – no matter where that is…I say all that to make an important announcement: In late June or early July (exact date TBD) in downtown Des Moines (location TBD) Stop Slavery Here will be hosting a screening of the International Justice Mission’s documentary, At The End Of Slavery. The event will be open to the public, and will also have a small fee – all proceeds going to a local organization (TBD) who is doing well in the fight against human trafficking.

We promise to reveal the details as they come in. For now, keep an eye on the blog for coming details and make sure to follow us on Twitter @stopithere
